My child has flat feet. Does it need to be treated?

Many children and adults have flat feet.  Not all of them will go on to develop problems.  However, there are many foot, leg and back problems that are caused, or contributed to, by flat, pronated feet.

If you are concerned with the way your child’s foot appears as they stand and walk, have them assessed by your Podiatrist.  Depending on the severity of the flat, pronated feet your Podiatrist will advise on what shoes are required to support the feet and, if required, manufacture customised orthotics to correct the deformity.
