Patrick Purcell
Bachelor Applied Science (Podiatry)
Patrick completed his degree in Podiatry at the Queensland University of Technology in 1998. He has a keen interest in sport and has paddled surf skis at a state and national level for 15 years. He began practicing podiatry in a multidispline private practice in Noosa where he gained experience in all aspects of podiatry.
In 2002 Patrick acquired an orthotic manufacturing business to complement his own newly established podiatry clinic at Marcoola. He was an integral part of the manufacturing and quality control aspects of making custom foot orthotics. His time in this business has cemented his biomechanical and orthotic knowledge which he now puts to good use for lower limb pain management.
In 2009 Patrick returned to fulltime podiatry consultation with Footsmart Podiatry. His special interests in podiatry are manual therapy techniques to correct musculoskeletal imbalances. Patrick has completed additional training in acupuncture/dry needling, joint mobilisation and myofascial release. He incorporates these techniques along with orthotic therapy to improve posture and lower limb function.
